During the holiday season, I adore creating a captivating and festive look with my makeup. I achieve this by incorporating shimmers and glitter eyeshadows as well as opting for bold lip colors. Whether it’s a family dinner, office party, or a New Year’s Eve celebration, my makeup game has to be on point. Over the years, I have experimented with different makeup products, and finally, I have found my go-to holiday makeup look that never fails to get compliments. In this blog post, I will be sharing how I achieved this look, holiday makeup inspirations, as well as handpicked products for you to explore this holiday season.
My Flawless Base:
Before you start applying any makeup, make sure your skin is clean, hydrated and moisturized! Your makeup applies so much better with a fresh face and hydrating buffers between your skin and makeup. Also, I personally dislike when my face feels ‘heavy’ with makeup application, so I always go for foundations that are lightweight, long-lasting, and gives good coverage. One of my favorite foundations for the holiday season is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (My shade is 13.25). It gives a beautiful dewy finish that looks amazing in pictures. If you have oily skin, try the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation that stays put for hours without any touch-ups. For reference, I use the shade 6C1 Rich Cocoa.
For the Eyes that Sparkle:
For the eyes, I like to keep it simple yet glam. One of my favorite eye shadow palettes for the holiday season is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette. It has a perfect mix of neutral and shimmery shades that can be used for both day and night looks. To add some sparkle, I like to apply the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow on the lids. It instantly adds glam to the eyes without being too overpowering. For eyeliner, my go-to product is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner that stays put for hours without smudging. If you would like an extra dose of vavavoom, here is the link to the lashes I am wearing : LASHES
Rosy Cheeks:
To give a natural flush to the cheeks, I like to use blushes that have a rosy hue. One of my all-time favorite blushes for the holiday season is NARS Amour. It suits almost every skin tone and gives a beautiful glow to the cheeks. If you want to add some bronzer, I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Volume III and the medium to dark Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette for contouring and highlighting.
Bold and Beautiful Lips:
No holiday makeup look can be complete without a bold lipstick. Whether it’s a classic red or a vampy plum shade, bold lips always look stunning in the holiday season. My favorite go-to lipstick for the holiday season is the MAC Cosmetics Ruby Woo. It’s a perfect classic red that looks good on every skin tone and stays put for hours. I paired it with the MAC Cosmetics Nightmoth Lip Liner for the perfect ombre lip combo. If you want to try a bold plum shade, go for the MAC Cosmetic Lustreglass Lipstick in the color Succumb to Plum. It’s a beautiful deep purple shade that looks stunning on medium to dark skin tones.
Adding the Finishing Touches:
To finish off the look, I always spritz my face with a setting spray to keep my makeup in place all night long. My personal favorite setting spray is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. It keeps the makeup from melting, fading, or settling into fine lines. You can also add a touch of highlighter on the high points of your face, like cheekbones, temples, and cupid’s bow. My favorite highlighter for the holiday season is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop. It has a beautiful golden-pink shade that adds a subtle yet gorgeous glow to the face.
That’s it, I have shared my go-to holiday makeup look with product recommendations and tips. This holiday season, have fun and experiment with different makeup looks. Don’t shy away from trying something new and bold. Happy holidays and happy glamming!
