One of the most beautiful parts of being on this Dream Girl journey is realizing that we don’t have to walk it alone. We get to connect with women who are doing the inner work, owning their stories, and creating safe spaces for others to heal and grow. Today, I’m so excited to spotlight one of those women — Christina, the creator of Her Authentic Self Podcast and the author of Her Authentic Self Affirmations Booklet.
Christina’s mission is simple but powerful: to encourage and empower women to embrace their true selves. Her work is rooted in healing, trust, self-mastery, and everything she creates is designed to remind you that you’re not alone on this path.
Meet Christina

Christina describes herself as a creative spiritual believer, deeply committed to healing and growth. Through her podcast and affirmations booklet, she’s built a loving community where women can show up vulnerably, explore their authentic selves, and experience real transformation of the mind, heart, and soul.
When I first came across her work, I felt an instant connection — not just to her words, but to the heart behind them. There’s something magnetic about women who step fully into who they are and then hold the door open for others to do the same.
A Conversation With Christina
I had the chance to ask Christina a few questions about her journey, her podcast, and what it really means to live as your authentic self.
Q:What inspired you to create Her Authentic Self Podcast and your Affirmation Booklet?
Time in therapy helped me learn that I had a negative view of self. It’s also where I was able to learn how to uncondition my mind from what I heard and saw growing up. I normalized low self-esteem in my life. It was near impossible for me to see my self-worth no matter how much I achieved. I was constantly putting myself down while trying to be an over achiever to make my parents proud.
For me, affirmations changed my life. I realized there was a large community of black women who had a similar upbringing struggling with self-worth and self-identity. Affirmations taught me to speak life into myself and to speak truth about who God says I am. The more I repeated affirmations when intrusive thoughts came, the more I started to believe them and my entire attitude on how I saw my identity changed.
Q: What does “authentic self” mean to you personally, and how has embracing it transformed your life?
When I started this podcast, I finally came to the realization that all my life I hadn’t been myself, rather I was being who I thought people wanted to see. I struggled with people pleasing, codependency, perfectionism and constantly dishonoring myself and my real feelings to appease the people around me. I focused everything I had on looking “perfect” to the outside world, I wasn’t living in my authentic purpose.
To me, authenticity is self awareness. It’s embracing and being vulnerable about who you truly are. The good parts and the bad. The authentic woman strives to be the best version of herself and doesn’t alter her core values or beliefs to fit in with “the crowd”. I believe that the more we choose healing and self mastery, the more our authentic selves shine through.
Q: How do affirmations play a role in your own daily routines or healing journey?
A few daily tools I use to practice affirmations daily:
- Read my Bible
- Surround myself with a positive affirming community
- Download audio meditation apps. There are recorded sections you can listen to based on what your struggling with that day (soothing pod app)
- I stopped looking at my intrusive thoughts as good or bad. Thoughts and emotions are normal.
Nowadays I just choose what best serves me. So when I have a negative thought about myself. I stop, acknowledge that putting myself down doesn’t serve me; then I replace the thought with something I know to be true.
Q: What message do you want every woman who listens to your podcast or reads your booklet to walk away with?
I want women to walk away with a sense of empowerment, confidence in self and trust in the journey God is navigating for them. My goal is to use my life to show others that they can have the fulfilled life they desire. I want to help women reframe their thinking to abundance and a world of possibility that they can absolutely attain.
Most importantly, I want those who feel forgotten and unseen to be comforted during their seasons of difficulty. I find that the best way to make others feel supported is by showing them you empathize and relate because you also had similar experiences that you were able to overcome with God.
Q:What advice would you give to women who are just beginning their journey of self-discovery and healing?
Advice I’d give to women who are new to the journey of self discovery is:
- Give yourself grace. You are unlearning years of toxic mindsets that no longer serve you. It takes time to heal.
- Get comfortable with letting go of what you don’t want. The process of release is crucial to manifesting because in order to attract what best serves you, you have to let go of what doesn’t.
- Be patient. God has a plan that often we can’t see. If you only focus on the results of manifesting and not the process of becoming your best self, you will burn out and eventually quit your healing journey.
- Remember it’s not about getting whatever you want. It’s about becoming a better person so your desires change naturally.
- Get specific about what you want your life to look like. You can not manifest what you don’t know. Get to know yourself more. What do you hate? What do you enjoy? What does a fulfilled life look and feel like to you? What are you most passionate about? What skill sets make you unique?
Q:How has building this community impacted you personally as a creator and woman?
Building this community has been such a beautiful eye opening process. I’m so blessed to have women feel comfortable enough to reach out to me and share their stories. What brings me the absolute most joy is when people I don’t know tell me how much my podcast has helped them get through dark times. It’s a beautiful reminder that I am where I’m supposed to be and that this is God’s calling on my life.
I’m a naturally empathetic person, but I’m also someone who is introspective; constantly analyzing myself, my past, my emotions and spiritual decisions. I want to use my gifts of making others feel seen and my time studying self awareness to encourage those who feel they have no where to turn and no one to speak to. I empathize because I was that person until I decided to go on my own journey of self discovery with God. I feel personally impacted by my audience and podcast community because it gives me a new sense of purpose.
Q:What future projects or visions do you have for Her Authentic Self?
I am a natural visionary so I have HUGE plans for the Authentic Self Brand. I’m currently working with someone to help me with daily content creation/social media management. At this stage I’m trying to build a team who also support my vision. I’m continuing to practice my skills of intuition and empathy by writing. I’m in the process of writing a 40 day spiritual manifestation journal for women who feel lost in their current season.
I plan to continue recording for my podcast. One day expanding to having more female guest/interviews on the show, and lastly I plan to do more free marketing/advertising on my podcast. I want to make sure I’m using my platform to support other creative visionary women. I strive to help entrepreneurs in the ways that I wish someone helped me when I first started.
