While coffee certainly gets the job done, I would like to introduce another energy booster, the beets and carrots smoothie. Equipments
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 whole beetroot, peeled and chopped
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 slice of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup condense milk (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and chop beet, carrot, and ginger
- First blend carrot and milk until smooth
- Then add beet and ginger, and blend again
- Strain using cheesecloth
- Sweeten with condense milk
- Pour into a glass and enjoy
Notes
- Sweeteners are optional.
- If you would like to make juice instead of a smoothie, you can use water instead of milk, and add sugar instead of condense milk.
Personally, I don’t like to add additional sugar into my homemade juices and smoothies in an effort to keep things raw and healthy. We are introduced to so much sugar in our daily diet that this is one area I try to be intentional about my sugar consumption, even if sugar makes it ‘taste better’.
